Coyote Fur

Coyote Fur

$9.75

From the fleshing of the hides, to the washing and tanning process, to the dying of the colors, the entire process is done in the USA by our good friends at the Fly Hair Company.

These coyote fur patches offer a versatile and unique range of natural colors mixed into the dyed color that make it a top choice for shrimp and crab patterns. Notes of tan, cream, gray, brown, and black are naturally sprinkled throughout. With fiber lengths from 2″–6″, the long, stiff guard hairs are ideal for saltwater patterns for Bonefish, Tarpon, Permit, and Redfish flies, while the fine underfur makes excellent dubbing.

Its slightly stiff texture resists fouling, and when wet, the guard hairs become lifelike and supple. For tyers seeking natural, durable, and highly effective materials, coyote tail may be the best-kept secret in saltwater fly tying.
